Organic food tastes good! Especially when real top chefs turn it into sophisticated dishes. The 23 chefs from “BIOSpitzenköche” [a group of chefs in Germany who are dedicated to promoting organic and sustainable cuisine] offer gourmet cuisine made from organically produced food and thus show throughout Germany that enjoyment and a responsible lifestyle can certainly belong together.
On behalf of the Bundesanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Ernährung (BLE) [Federal Agency of Agriculture and Food], we developed and implemented a tailored communication strategy for the BIOSpitzenköche. From 2015 to 2022, we managed their blog and instrumentalised and expanded their social media channel to inform consumers nationwide about organic farming and other forms of sustainable agriculture. As part of our mission, we also worked with the Institut für angewandte Sozialwissenschaft GmbH [Institute for Applied Social Sciences] and conducted a representative survey on the consumption of organic food among consumers in Germany.
These results were later published in the Ökobarometer [a report published annually by the German government to assess public opinions and attitudes towards organic agriculture and related environmental issues]. The BIOSpitzenköche are part of the federal programme “Ökologischer Landbau und andere Formen nachhaltiger Landwirtschaft (BÖLN)” [a program that aims to promote and support organic farming and sustainable agricultural practices], initiated and financed by the Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft (BMEL) [Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture].
